Welcome to the Hemophilia Association of New Jersey Website!
Here's hoping 2009 is a great, healthy and successful year for all of us!!
NOTES TO HIGHLIGHT
-
If you have an HMO/Managed Care plan (individual and/or group) you can name your hemophilia treatment center physician as your Primary Care Physician (PCP). This is in accordance with the 1997 HMO Regulations. The hematologist, however, must be at your HTC.
This will avoid the need for referrals which many Managed Care plans insist upon to see any other physicians and/or specialists.
If you have a self-insured plan, you may still have to choose a primary physician. The easiest way to choose a good physician that understands the necessity of seeing your hemophilia treater on a regular and emergent basis is to get names from your hemophilia treater who has already worked with several physicians, family practitioners and pediatricians.
-
SCHOLARSHIP packages have been sent out. A list of additional scholarships is included in that package.
-
